Interior painting.
Full drop cloths, plastic on every fixture, masking tape on every trim-wall junction. Holes filled with DAP, cracks caulked with paintable acrylic, stains spot-primed with BIN. Two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select or Sherwin-Williams Duration on walls.
Exterior painting.
Power wash, scrape loose paint, sand feather edges, spot-prime bare wood with oil, caulk all joints with Big Stretch, and two coats of 100% acrylic (Ben Moore Aura Exterior, SW Emerald). Expect 7–10 year lifespan on a proper exterior repaint.
Cabinet refinishing.
If your boxes are structurally sound, refinishing is almost always the cheaper path than tearing them out and starting over. We remove doors to our shop, sand to bare wood or degloss, spray with pigmented lacquer or 2K poly, and rehang. A smooth, durable sprayed finish that's field-repairable.
What a painting quote depends on.
There's no flat rate for painting a house, and anyone who quotes you one over the phone hasn't seen the walls. What moves the number is square footage and ceiling height, how many colors and how much cutting-in the layout demands, the condition of the existing surface (peeling, chalking, water-stained, or wallpapered all add prep), trim and door counts, the paint line you choose, and on exteriors the number of stories, siding material, and how much scraping and carpentry repair the substrate needs before a brush touches it.
